Montpellier SupAgro, as the National Instititute for Higher Education in Agricultural Sciences, delivers the doctorate Ph.D. diploma (Arrêté du 7 août 2006) in areas of scientific research, in joint accreditation with 3 doctorate schools, offering an excellent environment to obtain the Ph.D. The partnerships with INRA, CIRAD, IRD, IRSTEA research institutes and Montpellier Universities in the Joint Research Units gives the opportunity to benefit from the highest technologies with state of the art equipped laboratories and exceptional academic staff to work closely with

Extra Training Courses
Montpellier SupAgro aims to offer students a whole new level of mentoring and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration through training programs geared toward broadening scientific and professional knowledge, in partnership with Montpellier Universities:
Montpellier SupAgro offers French language courses (FLE) throughout the year as well as a Summer Course, 'Agri-Cultures' in July-August which includes four weeks of intensive French courses and cultural & agricultural activities with visits to local businesses. This is followed by a three week individual internship on a French family farm.
Training courses are also organized by the Collège Doctoral Université Sud de France
Conditions for registration on a Ph. D. course
Candidates must have been granted a Master or European Master's Degree or equivalent in the discipline chosen for the Ph.D. in the four years preceding the application.
In order to grant an exemption for applicants not holding one of these diplomas if they MUST establish an equivalent level of education, including a research paper, and / or scientific publications in refered reviews or journals.
Prior to applying, you must:
- Receive a favorable opinion from your hosting lab PhD mentor and the Director.
- Have an agreed Thesis topic to submit (in collaboration with your PhD mentor)
- Have proper funding to cover the duration of your Ph.D. (3 years)
