The Kuban State Agrarian University is one of the recognized leaders in higher agricultural education in Russia.

The largest university in the south of Russia occupies 174 hectares in the city of Krasnodar , a region of the Winter Olympic Games “Sochi – 2014” near the Black and Azov Seas. The University is represented by a campus with 20 dormitories and 20 academic buildings for education and everyday lives of students, it has sports facilities on the Black Sea and Russia ‘s two largest agricultural technoparks more than 120 hectares in area . 22 thousand students from 23 countries are studying at the university. The university has Center for the Study of Russian Language for Foreign Students. Within the program of academic mobility of students the higher education institution has partners among universities in 44 countries in Europe and Asia.

The main active power of implementation the TradPro Project within Kuban SAU is the Faculty for Food Processing Technologies.

The Faculty for Processing Technologies has long-term historical traditions. It was re-arranged in 1999 on the base of Decree of the Head Administration for Higher Educational Institution, Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation. The main ground for running the faculty was Department for Technology of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Production, which was established in 1991 at the Faculty for Fruit- and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture.

The founder of the Faculty for Food Processing Technologies and the first Dean of the one (1999-2009) was Ludmila Donchenko, doctor of technical sciences.

The faculty consists of 3 Departments:

-Technology of Storage and Processing of Plant Growing Production,
-Technology of Storage and Processing of Stock-Raising Production,
-Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Biophysics.

 Research centers of the faculty:

  • Scientific and Research Institution for Biotechnology and Certification of Food Products;
  • Scientific and Research Complex “Technolog”;
  • Scientific and Industrial Complex “Agrobiotechpererabotka”

The main focuses of the research centers mentionned above are: development and implementation of advanced technologies, quality expertise and food safety.

 The prior objectives of the Faculty for Food Processing Technologies:

  • harmonization of Russian and EU requirements indicating the food safety;
  • training of teachers in the field of food safety in foreign countries;
  • development of joint study modules in food safety for the professionals working in the field of food production industry;
  • establishment of study centres.
